How to Avoid Overwhelm and Confusion in your Internet Marketing Business
Information overload is a huge danger for new internet marketers. It’s such a big problem. It can just kill your business. When you start you are bombarded with information and trainings that can delay you actually taking action and getting going – a kind of analysis paralysis.
And unfortunately, it’s on the increase. Every day I get emails and popups telling me about the next best thing for this or that – twitter, facebook, pay-per-Call (is the new Pay per click!), traffic boosters, list builders … I can’t keep up with this stuff.
I spent a year hopping from one to another, learning lots but doing little. It’s frustrating. So what is the answer?
Well, I’ve been following Mike Dillard’s teachings for some time so I’m all ears on his latest – What’s Working Now.
Check out Mike’s video on this where he outlines the growing problem and talks about bringing EFFICIENCY into your marketing activities. This is a “short cut system” – so you can follow these new trainings but do so in a focused manner.
I certainly resonate with information overload and Mike has certainly struck a chord with lots of people here. There’s nearly a 1000 comments on his page!
I was drowning in overwhelming confusion until I found Wealth Masters Marketing Central. This step by step process has been excellent for focusing my activities and I’ve used it to build my own team training to help others.
There IS an awful lot of information even in that one programme, but we are taught a five step plan to build up one’s skills in a handful of techniques and work to get good at those before moving on – this can take months and many will flick over to something else saying it doesn’t work.
The trainings are inspirational, motivating and very practical – I’d had many ‘aha’ moments.
There are two things you need to master – drive traffic, convert visitors.
Traffic is fairly easy, it may take time to build up momentum, the conversion is more tricky and this is where personal branding comes in, again it takes time – more for some than others, some people are more natural communicators or look good on camera or have a ‘nice’ way about them. But it’s all about building relationships, being an authority and above all being your authentic self.
Once you have leads coming into your pipeline, you can experiment with you own landing pages. Conversions take time and this can be difficult in the beginning when you are so desperate for your new business to start paying off.
Hang in there – keep doing the activity – but be focused, don’t flit here and there. Consistent, persistent action always pays off.
I do think your sponsor is important part of this – mine is a top leader so I don’t expect personal attention – you shouldn’t need it, everything is in the back office and sponsors are simply shepherds.
I take responsibility for my business, for my activity and for striving to improve on everything I’m doing. These are personal qualities not everyone has – they want quick results and blame others when they should hold up a mirror.
Success is not a sprint – it’s a marathon – and I’m in it for the long term big bucks not the quick buck.
I’ll look out for Mike’s ‘What’s Working Now’ as I think it may help a lot of my new people – yet I urge you to incorporate the element of personal development, consistent activity, persistence and self-belief into your business daily method of operation.
Personal growth is simply too critical an element to miss if you want success in the long run for that dream lifestyle.
