Jay Allyson – full name, Dr Jacqueline Allyson Dempster – holds a PhD in biomedical sciences from a leading UK university and a Masters level PGCert in education. With 20 years experience in research and teaching and over 6 years in business marketing, Jay is an established practitioner, evaluator & professional mentor with a solid record of collaborative work, projects, presentations & publications. She established a consultancy business – Belanda Consulting -in 2007 when she quit her JOB and has worked full time for herself ever since.

Having set up a home business in network marketing back in 2004 and marketing online for several years, Jay Allyson is both an active marketer ‘in the trenches’ daily and a success coach, teaching practical and effective social marketing strategies, communication, organizaion and leadership, key business skills for today’s entrepreneur. Hi there, Jay Allyson here. I’m an Internet Marketing Coach and Home Business Entrepreneur. On my blog here you’ll find a tonne of information and coaching tips in the areas of marketing, personal growth, leadership and entrepreneurship that I hope will help you on your journey to achieving true success and your dream lifestyle.

Over the years, I have lived and worked in the UK, Netherlands, USA (just love Texas), Indonesia (where my husband Steve did VSO for 2 years). I love to travel and have been all over the globe – most of Europe, USA, South Africa, Japan … some awesome places. I’m amazed by the sheer diversity of landscapes, cultures, languages and experiences our planet offers us when we are free to follow our desire and interests.

You see, I always wanted to lead an extraordinary life … and this led me to a challenging and exciting world of entrepreneurship.

I’m passionate about marketing – about the pyschology of it all – and I’m an avid consumer of personal development, for both my own personal awareness, drive and fulfillment and as a conduit to inspiring, leading and empowering others. I guess this is why I’m part of several elite groups of online entrepreneurs, who are taking this industry by storm. A little bit about me

My full name, the long version, is Dr Jacqueline Allyson Dempster – quite a mouthful so I keep it short as ‘Jay Allyson’ for marketing purposes! I’ve been ‘Jay’ since I was 16.

Originally, I’m from Leicestershire in England, UK, although I’ve lived and worked in few different places over the years. I come from a small family, just mum, dad and one brother, a scattering of aunts and uncles and a handful of cousins and now have a loving family of my own, my hubby Steve, son Alex (nearly 16 yrs) and daughter Francesca (11yrs) – who you can meet in my Photo gallery.

I come from a family of academics – I’m the third ‘Dr’ having a doctorate (PhD not MD). Mine’s sort of both since I studied biology and worked my early career in medical research, which I guess is where my interest in how the human body works: physiology is what gives you the energy and determination, fuel your body right and you can achieve anything! and how people think & respond to things: psychology sits behind everything we do in marketing!

Later in my profession, I moved into educational development (curriculum, pedagogy, course design, e-learning) and staff development (teaching people to teach, to be assertive, to write and speak persuasively and develop leadership: which has been a huge part of what I do now in my team training. (If you look me up, you might find me as Dr Jay Dempster or Jacqueline Dempster as well as Jay Allyson.)

I’m a great believer that when you add up all the things you’ve learned and done in your life and work, you have a immense range of knowledge and skills to draw on, whatever your background or education. I’m so excited how my life and career are now starting to align as I clarify and reaffirm my purpose in this world.

First you have to fall…

There came a point in my J.O.B. however when my heart simply wasn’t in it anymore. Maybe it was the bureaucracy, maybe it was the bitchy new boss, who knows … but it was a very bad time for me. I knew I wanted to change things, but I really didn’t know who I was and what I was good for. Despite all the different skills and expertise I’d been gathering, I didn’t feel of value … since this was what I was feeling at work, I started to believe it myself. I sunk deeper and deeper into feeling trapped, worthless and afraid. Awful, just thinking about that time now makes me extremely emotional, it was such a low time in my life.

And then you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and do something amazing!

It was time to take a serious decision to change my life. I’d already been in the network marketing industry for 3 years doing reasonably well with my home business, nothing earth shattering in terms of income or satisfaction. But it was a help to finding a Plan B, since in that environment I felt more empowered, like I had options and that there was a future outside of academia.

So using my business as a back up in courage, I took the plunge to become self-employed and leave my job, fire that horrid boss, so to speak. Imagine the relief!!! It was an awesome feeling of freedom and excitement, coupled with fear and intrepidation.

And the first thing I did was to immerse myself in personal development, positive affirmations … oh, and set up a website to market myself, You Inc. – and I found I had masses to offer (of course!) and with my first few ‘clients’ I started to build back my self-esteem. It felt amazing!

My first home business was with a top MLM nutrition company. I love the company, love the products (still use them!), but I didn’t find it a profitable business model for me. Yet, what I learned from the experience underpins much of my approach today: leadership, work ethic and helping others to achieve their dreams. It was a lovely community and I’ll ever be grateful because without it, I would never have found success with my current primary business.

Discovering internet marketing

And then I decided I was going to conquer the world and market my nutrition products ONLINE. I’m not too bad on the technical skills now, but internet marketing was a whole new ball game. It was a dazzling world and I fell in love with it. I spent thousands (literally) over 18 months trying to learn all the ins and outs. I bought tonnes of ebooks, systems and tools. I had dozens of mentors and memberships.

And true enough, when you study you build up an impressive knowledge and understanding… I certainly knew my stuff, but implementing it all was another matter! I struggled to glue all the parts together, concepts, techniques, tools – it was like a chinese puzzle to me.

That’s when I happened upon an online marketing education system, and all the pieces started falling into place – it was truly beautiful! And because of the training I received, in mindset, business, marketing and leadership, my total commitment to success, I got things up and running pretty fast.

You see, I’d found a much more profitable business model than anything I ever knew existed. I earned more in 4 months than in the total 5+ years in my previous MLM company. Now that’s worth shouting about!

So I truly ‘get’ what internet marketing is all about – empowering people, matching people up to what they are looking for, building a list and a following, sifting and sorting prospects for you, and in turn leading and training a team of loyal entrepreneurs.

Through this business, I finally found MY calling – to inspire, to teach, to support others take a Plan B and run with it … to play their greatest game. The more people I help, the more success and satisfaction, empowerment and fulfillment I feel in myself. We all win

My role moving forward

I help people in many different countries world wide to build their Plan B by teaching them how truly powerful they can be in their abilty to succeed and to help and influence others. On a practical level too, my coaching is about teaching home business owners, network marketers, how to market effectively, how to pick a profitable primary business, how to build multiple streams of income, and how to acquire the wealth education you need to handle the money you will be earning.

I truly believe that network marketing is the greatest business to be in for both time and financial freedom. My site here is intended to provide a hub for information and inspiration to help others to see and learn what being an entrepreneur is about and to achieve their own dream lifestyle.
