Network Marketing Business SuccessOver the years, I’ve created many resources to help people understand the key factors for network marketing business success and I’ve just discovered Spicynodes.

I’ve been trying out a new tool, called Spicynodes and it’s great for laying out the fundamentals that myself and other top producers in the home business industry teach.

This is in construction as part of a new membership site I’m building right now. But I was so excited by the visual capabilities of this, that I wanted to share two of my best network marketing business success models using Spicynodes.

Merry Marketing on Facebook

Has Marketing on Facebook has become somewhat of a dark art?

marketing on facebookIf you’re building an online business or looking to improve your results from advertising, particularly on the more innovative social media, like marketing on facebook, this post should practice what it preaches and provide you with massive value.

Simply put – this one training I’m going to share with you is a Game Changer for anyone that GETS these principles and APPLIES them to their adverts and marketing.

In fact, I feel so strongly about teaching this, that last week, I upset one of my team members in my primary business who I’d been coaching. You see, I felt had gone back to pitching products on facebook – his last ten or more posts were just the same sales ad.

Obviously, he didn’t like my negative comment, and probably quite rightly so, because I didn’t pull any punches when in my frustration I pointed out the flaw in what he was doing marketing on facebook.

But in my defense, I was actually giving him a Million dollar piece of advice.

I’ve spent the past few years being quite innovative in the sphere of personal branding and social media marketing, so I think I know a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t work, especially marketing on Facebook. Go see if you “like” me www.facebook.com/TheMerryMarketer.

So I’d like to hope I’m giving value when I try to prod someone in a better direction on the proper use of Facebook advertising and how marketers can glean insight about their customers from Facebook itself.

Well it got me thinking … how can I help people really GET the principles of marketing on facebook.

So I pulled out some advice from a Billion dollar earner. I went into my bookmarks and dug out a really key and super-cool podcast that I got from my friend and mentor Perry Marshall.

(You may know Perry from Google Adwords fame, but actually Perry and his team are doing some REALLY innovative stuff on Facebook because they totally understand marketing on facebook in terms of analytics in the back.)

So this training is from an in-depth interview Perry did with Game Changer hosts Mark & Bob.

It’s yours instant access – DOWNLOAD HERE

You see, Perry explains something really well about how to communicate more effectively with your potential customers/prospects. The interview’s in TWO PARTS -and you’re going to want to listen more than once. I surely did. This is gold.

First, they talk about the whole VALUE driven marketing thing – people think they understand attraction marketing but really they miss the key thing, which is about VALUE and unique value at that. Personal branding builds on your expertise, it can’t come first.

Second- and this is a killer tactic – Perry totally blows other training out of the water talking about the difference between google and facebook in terms of his renowned “what’s the conversation going on in someone’s mind” as applied to when they’re on google or their facebook time.

You’re going to LOVE that part – because you’ll understand how to use facebook’s ‘likes and interests’ to find out what your customers/prospects are attracted to, and match your message to that market – hardly ANYONE is doing this.

This one call should help you understand precisely how content driven marketing goes way beyond attraction marketing – it’s Message Market Match at its utmost best – and all there for you to play for – SIMPLE and SORTED. Beautiful.

Here’s the link to the Facebook quiz Perry talks about so you can decide if marketing on facebook is something that would suit YOUR specific business.

Are you making one of these mistakes in your internet marketing business plan?

Let me explain with three examples.

Network marketers (the Sales reps/team leaders)

Even if they operate their business on the internet, network marketers tend to act like sales reps, dedicated and loyal to one company and one product line and building a team who do what they do.

A network marketing business is designed to be duplicable, coherent and consistent, but as marketers these sales reps are rarely unique – one of thousands or millions of distributors with the same offer, all competing for the same customers.

Some of the very top producers have built a brand around their team and developed systems, earning affiilate commissions by renting these out to their downline. Essentially, they add value by creating a top internet marketing business plan around their network marketing company and their own support services.

Affiliate marketers (the Sales reps)

On the other hand, affiliates are rarely aligned with one company or marketing a single product line. Their internet marketing business plan involves signing up for a whole host of affiliate programs they can grab links for, shove up flashing banners all over their website. They bombard their lists with an assortment of offers hoping something will stick and some people will buy.

In both cases, these marketers don’t have any strategy behind what products and services they mix and match or how to bring them into closer alignment. Usually, they offer low ticket items and have to attract thousands of visitors to make hundreds of sales to earn an average income.

There are a few affiliate marketing gurus who have really taken this to the next level through two tier affilite programs or by developing their own product. They add value to the concept and attact other affiiliate marketers to sell for them, thus expanding their team of sales reps.

Franchise marketers (the Managers)

Franchise businesses inherently have the same mistakes built into their internet marketing business plan as network marketing and affiliate marketing. They have a fixed brand and product line that you market and sell. You’re simply the manager.

The most successful franchise marketers have learned how to take their duplicatable business model and add value to their customers. They get the repeat visitors by making it a high quality and pleasant experience.

Now for traditional, physical franchises (like restaurants or cleaning agencies) that is simply about customer service, because the company dictates the design and delivery of the product. But online, it’s a completely different story.

So here’s the best internet marketing business plan you can develop:

#1. Decide what your business is all about – what’s your passion as its founder/CEO, what do you value and believe in, what’s your mission and how will people benefit as a result of doing business with you (as a customer or a team associate).

#2. Build a brand around #1 and only market products and services that fit with your mission and your brand. Set up your internet site as a hub for your primary business but provide both low ticket and high ticket offers.

#3. Set out a “value ladder” of offers. For example, you may start off with a free ebook, or time limited trial, as a taster of a book, training guide or tool. From there, the next rung of your ladder might be a video or audio version, next rungs could be a home study course, a live seminar or event, one-on-one coaching, done-for-you services, inner circle.

People will pay more money for the same content packaging in different ways – see Russell Brunson’s Local Marketing Myths. In fact, you can often create a generic business guide and “re-niche” the front end for different target markets for maximum results.

(That fact alone is gold for developing top internet franchise businesses.)

A successful internet marketing business plan creates the perfect storm.

Having a free, trial or low ticket offer on the front end can make buying from you or getting started with you a feasible option.

If your visitors/customers experience some of the value you give – so you do need a decent quality front end product or service – they will become repeat buyers and move up your value ladder to your top tier back end product where some really big commissions are possible.

A buyer is a buyer is a buyer, as they say. Keep your buyer lists separate and market around the next rung on the ladder for them.

Having all three key elements in place in your sales & marketing funnel – your internet shop – is the reason are why this strategy is so powerful.

The combination of top tier product line and low cost offers within a clear and coherent business or personal brand provides the ‘slippery slide’ that marketing legend Joe Sugarman talks about.

This is a top internet marketing business plan since this strategy borrows the best from of these different business and marketing models and overcomes the mistakes that most marketers make on the internet.

This is my own business strategy and why our team is beating the competition hands down in the network marketing and internet business industry. Review how you can join my Success Coaching group.

Develop a USP & Charge What You’re Worth

Develop a USP – it’s the only way to market in today’s internet age.

It’s all about VALUE. What’s the perceived value of what you offer compared to the rest of the herd. This is exactly the thing I’ve been talking about with a tonne of people lately.

Key message for internet marketers … if you can figure out & develop a USP, people will seek you out. What’s your unique, interesting or noteworthy contribution to helping people solve a particular problem they have right now.

As Seth Godin says in this superb, 8 min video below: “… then they will find you and pay extra, because you’re not the same but cheaper, you’re different and more expensive.”

The whole system has changed, are you prepared?

Why You Shouldn’t Be Marketing On Facebook

Are you marketing on Facebook and other social sites?

If so, you might want to rethink your strategy. Here’s why.

Your prospects may not be interested in finding offers on social networks.

While people certainly join Facebook fan pages and follow on Twitter those “brands” they’re interested in, recent research shows consumers find email a more palatable marketing platform for reading and hearing about sales offers.

Today (21st April 2011) eMarketer reported that “Many web users like heading to Facebook for discounts, but some research suggests emails may be preferred—and more effective”.

Here’s results from a recent study from ForeSee Results:

Talking about their preferred social media sites for retail marketing messages, nearly half (47%) US online shoppers refused to choose one at all. Among the rest, Facebook was a clear favourite (40%).

HOWEVER – here’s the REAL DEAL why you shouldn’t be marketing on Facebook …

The survey also confirmed earlier research showing EMAIL still drives more shopping and purchasing than social media. More people subscribe to email lists than follow ‘brands’ on social sites.

The primary purpose of communication and entertainment for most people is keeping in touch with family and friends photos, videos and birthday reminders, and playing games.

With this in mind, a Facebook FAN PAGE is the way to go marketing on Facebook, so you not only promote your brand and your offer, but you can build a whole LIST via an opt-in and drive this using email marketing.

So the key lesson here:

Your marketing on Facebook and Twitter can be useful for alerting folks to your sales offers, but the detail should come to them via email.

How to Do Direct Response Marketing the Right Way

how to do direct response marketingA simple formula for effective direct response marketing for your business

If  you’re in the network marketing home business industry – or any small business for that matter … Are you missing the magic on your message to market match?

Here’s a very simple formula I learned from the direct response marketing experts such as Dan Kennedy and David Ogilvy.

If you want a yard full of deer, do not put a 50 pound block of cheese outside …

If you want to catch tuna, you have to fish in deeper waters than for sprats …

So what’s your bait …. If you want to attract serious business builders …???

Answer: Your direct response marketing must provide …

RELEVANCE and NEED   vs.   CURRENT PAIN/PROBLEM and DESIRED END RESULT

How to do direct response marketing the right way is all about the right message to the right market using the right media.

Imagine how much MORE likely you are to respond to an advert or marketing message that seems to be ‘just for me’  and has an irresistable offer that means you respond … eer …. directly.

Imagine how much LESS you’d have to spend if you did a bit of thinking and research on your target market or existing customers to see who is your most responsive audience.

Message to Market Match – that’s how to do direct response marketing the right way!

Is Email Marketing Doing its Job?

Another amusing unsubscribe comment today …. “Too many emails. Too pushy gives the impression your desperate.” Here’s why this is a funny thing …

When you have 10-20 applications coming in every day, we can afford to be fussy and it’s easy to toss such comments aside. It’s a fact that we’re really really selective about who we work with.

Email marketing is an important filter – go ahead and unsubscribe – that’s great, separates the wheat from the chaff!

But it did make me wonder about the limits on email marketing. Only for 30 seconds, mind you, because it just is a brilliant example of email automation working at its best – filtering, sifting and sorting while I was asleep in my bed last night.

So when you get a response like that …. have a smile and enjoy your day :-)
